1. Total Calendar Days
When counting standard days, the calculator counts the total number of full 24-hour days from your start date up to your end date. If you want to count both the full start day and end day, simply turn on the "Include end day" toggle.
2. Business Days & Public Holidays
Most basic calculators treat every day the same. Our tool automatically factors in regional weekends and official public holidays for 55 countries:
- Standard Weekends: Saturday and Sunday (used in countries like the US, UK, and Australia).
- Islamic / Middle Eastern Weekends: Friday and Saturday (used in countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt).
Any public holiday that falls on a standard workday is automatically skipped so your working day total stays accurate.
3. Adding or Subtracting Days
When moving forward or backward from a specific date, the calculator counts each day step-by-step. In business day mode, weekends and official holidays are automatically skipped until the target count is reached.

Leap years containing February 29th are automatically calculated using official leap year rules.

Is the start date included in the total?
Standard day counts measure the elapsed time between two points. If you need an inclusive count for contracts, lease agreements, or legal notices, turn on the "Include end day" switch.
What counts as a business day?
A business day is any weekday that is not a regular weekend day or an official government public holiday in your selected country.
